Nakagami Shinichiro
Shinichiro is a male high school student who enjoys drawing. He lives with his mother, father, and childhood friend Hiromi. He is frustrated with Hiromi's lack of emotion. His life is slightly changed after meeting a strange girl named Noe. |

Isurugi Noe
Noe is an odd girl at Shinichiro's school. He meets her when she is up in a tree getting food for a chicken named Raigomaru. She likes Raigomaru because she thinks "he can fly". When Raigomaru is killed by a raccoon, Noe doesn't cry because she "gave away her tears". Noe has an older brother names Jun. She is insightful to other people's emotions. |

Yuasa Hiromi
Hiromi is Shinichiro's age, and is a friend from his childhood. She goes to his school, and has been living with him ever since her father died. She used to smile a lot when she was younger, but now projects a very cold exterior. She is popular at school, and is a good player on the basketball team. Hiromi is treated in a hostile way by Shinichiro's mother. |

Endo Aiko
Aiko is a year older than Shinichiro and attends a different school than him. She is going out with Miyokichi; a friend of Shinichiro's that he introduced to her, but Aiko shows signs of having feelings for Shinichiro. Aiko helps out at her family's shop named Imagawayaki Ai-chan. She is shorter than Shinichir0, and enjoys teasing him from time to time. |

Nobuse Miyokichi
Miyokichi is Shinichiro's good friend, and has known him since they were kids. They hang out together at school. Shinichiro introduced Miyokichi to Aiko which eventually led to Miyokichi asking out Aiko, and she agreed, though it is apparent that she agreed reluctantly. He did not seem to notice that Aiko has feelings for Shinichiro until she revealed it to him in a subtle way. |
